Just wanted to share some photos of my scraproom. I still have some things to do in there. Such as a Taller shelf to replace the short one that covers part of my window. Need to hang my chandelier, and new photo boxes that match! But for the most part it is where I want it.

On another note... May??? I can not believe it has been since May since I have posted anything!!! I need to make a resolution to do better then that!!!

I have some awesome news to share...Ready....here goes... I am getting married!!! That's right September 1st 2012!! Black and pink are the colors.

That means I have a lot to do!!!

I will keep you posted more as I work on projects and such for my special day! Can't wait to marry my best friend!!

Pumpkin Ginger Cupcakes

So I was mulling around the house yesterday and decided to bake something, I whipped up these delicious cupcakes. I used a basic cream cheese frosting with a sprinkle of cinnamon. I think it would be fun to use almond extract in the frosting instead of vanilla as well. I love to experiment. Cooking is all about having fun! Try these and put your own twist on them.

Pumpkin Ginger Cupcakes

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 (3.4 ounce) package instant butterscotch pudding mix
2 teaspoons baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1 cup butter, room temperature
1 cup white sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
4 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 (15 ounce) can pumpkin puree

Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease 24 muffin cups, or line with paper muffin liners. Whisk together the flour, pudding mix, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, ground ginger, allspice, and cloves, in a bowl; set aside.
Beat the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar with an electric mixer in a large bowl until light and fluffy. The mixture should be noticeably lighter in color. Add the room-temperature eggs one at a time, allowing each egg to blend into the butter mixture before adding the next. Beat in the vanilla and pumpkin puree with the last egg. Stir in the flour mixture, mixing until just incorporated. Pour the batter into the prepared muffin cups.
Bake in the preheated oven until golden and the tops spring back when lightly pressed, about 20 minutes. Cool in the pans for 10 minutes before removing to cool completely on a wire rack.

Cream Cheese Frosting

1 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup butter, softened
2-3 cups sifted confectioners' sugar (depending on how thick you want it)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

In a medium bowl, cream together the cream cheese and butter until creamy. Mix in the vanilla, then gradually stir in the confectioners' sugar. Store in the refrigerator after use.

Craft Warehouse DT assignment #2

The first part of our DT assignment #2 at Craft Warehouse was to design a canvas. You could pretty much do whatever you wanted to it so long as you used the Sassafras Line. I chose to use Indie Girl. This line of paper and embellishments is so petite and feminine. I couldn't help but use it on a photo of my sister when she was little. I opted to try and make a clock out of my canvas. I love how it turned out. I plan on making many many more of these in the future. I think they would make the perfect christmas gift!

The second part of our DT assignment was to create a 12x12 layout using the Sassafras AppleJack line. This line of paper is so fun to use! Lots of awesome papers, border stickers, cardstock stickers! Perfect for a boy layout!

The third part of our DT assignment was to make a 12x12 layout using Prima Flowers and NO patterned paper! Ugh this is so hard for me. lol I doodled a tree looking background to make my own paper. I also made the fence and put some Tim Holtz rock candy on it to give it a shine.

The fourth part of our DT assignment this month was to make a card using Prima Flowers and NO patterned paper. Wow was that a challenge for me! I tried and made three!

In memory of my dad who passed away 3 years ago. I miss him so very much. I have to admit that time is not healing this wound very well. So much I want to share with him about my life changes. I know he is watching and knows what goes on, but it is still hard. I love you so very much dad! May you rest in peace.

Craft Warehouse Design Team 2010

Wow I can't believe I really made it!!! This was my second year sending in an entry. I am so glad I decided to give it another try this year. I was so shocked when I got the call asking if I would accept a position on the team. All I could shout was yes, yes, yes!!! I am sure I sounded like a blubbering idiot lol. Hello from Kansas!!

Just wanted to shout hello to all my friends, while I am vacationing in Kansas with my amazing boyfriend. It has been an awesome 5 days and looking forward to the next few before I have to go home. I have actually been looking at houses here to possibly buy instead of rent. That's right I have pretty much made up my mind that I will be moving to Kansas in the future. There is a better chance of being able to open my scrap store there then in Oregon. It isnt anything that will happen right away, but it does keep me focaused and excited for the future. Also just being able to be with the love of my life daily will mean the world to me. My daughter is starting to like the idea of moving as well and that makes me extremely happy. So stay tuned for more on this adventure :) Have a great weekend.

Well we ended 2009 with a bang, my oldest daughter Shaina was in a pretty bad car wreck and broke her arm on the afternoon of the 23rd. We are still fighting with getting her a rental car and having the adjuster look at hers. Sheesh what a mess. The other driver claimed 100% of the liability but that doesnt make it any easier. Thankfully Shaina's arm turned out to be ok a week later and didnt have to be recast. It was a very tiny stress fracture. Hopefully we can get her a rental today (tired of her using my car lol) and start looking for a new car for her. As you can see hers is totalled. Hopefully 2010 will be a lot better!!!

So today while I was on a trip I got a bit of sad news. My buddy and coworker Jack passed away last night in his sleep. He was 79. We were both hired on at the bus shop the same day and have worked for the last 13 years together. Everything from our daily routes to trips to firecamp. I will truelly miss him. He was complaining at the end of July while we did summer school of being dizzy alot. I suggested he go have it checked out. He did and was diagnosed with a tumor on his brain. After over a month in San Francisco he went to Medford for some rehibilitation and chemo/radiation. He finally got to come home about 2 weeks ago. All was good. But he didnt wake up this morning. At least he is in peace. My prayers to his family in this really tough time. I love you Jack!

It's turning into fall

I can't believe our summer is turning into fall so quickly. It is already into the 30's at night. I havent posted in a couple weeks, with school starting back up I have been busy trying to get my route in order. I think I finally have it where it will work best for now at least. Hope everyone got their kids off for their first day of school without a hitch. It was a little wierd to me this year only having Tanisha. So used to shopping for two etc. But was much nicer on the budget :). I applied for another DT so we will see what happens. They announce the new team tomorrow. Wish me good luck. Back from vacation

So my vacation was amazing. I got to spend the best two weeks of my life with my babydoll Jeff. We had an amazing time. Spent 5 of those days with my girls and alot of it with his kids as well. We went to Frontier City and all the kids got along great! Then we took the girls back to Kansas and all they could say is its so flat lol. It was sad when they had to fly back home. Then we went to Altus, OK where I got to meet his mom and dad. They are great people. I love them! Then off to Oklahoma City to spend some time with his best friend Scott and his wife Jackie. We spend the day at the Elk's pool, what a blast!! Then the last night was spent alone just us two. It was the hardest thing I have ever done was to leave that day. It still chokes me up to think about it. But with any luck he will be here in less than 90 days!!! Then we can spend our lives together!

So I am still on vacation and still having an amazing time! My girls left yesterday and it was definately bittersweet. As much fun as we had with them here with us, we still want some much needed alone time. We did have a great time with them, went to the Oklahoma City Memorial and museum (how sad that was), took the all the kids to Frontier City, had a great time there. Went back to the hotel for some swimming and some awesome conversations. Leaving tomorrow for the City again to meet parents and hang with some friends before heading back home. (I know I am not going to want to leave) :(

Breaking Free!

Here are a couple layouts I made using the new Breaking Free line from MY Mind's Eye! I have to admit I am smitten by their paper and embellishments. I only wish my lss would carry it. I drive 80 miles to the nearest store that carries My Mind's Eye. Needless to say I stock up lol.

I love how this layout turned out. I tried some of the pleated folding on the side, some handmade flowers, border punches, added some bling, lace and a great butterfly transperancy.

On this layout I took full advantage of the double sided paper. I hand cut the scalloped circle, flipped the inside circle to the other side of the paper, added some faux stitching, some bling, some more hand made flowers using the embellishments for the insides of the flowers. I love the cute tag for journaling.

This is my father. He passed away June 14th, 2007. He fought a long and hard battle with lung cancer. He was an amazing man. He was in the Navy, married a beautiful wife, had 3 great kids, was the life of the party, everyone's friend. He was talented with wood, loved working on cars, and spending time with his grandkids. I just wanted to take time to honor him and let him know I am always thinking of him! I love you dad.

Handmade flowers

Just wanted to show you all some handmade flowers I made today while waiting for paint in my laundry room to dry lol. I think I might use these on a lo for a DT I am trying out for. Home 1948 - Tinkering Ink

Here is a layout I did with the awesome Tinkering Ink line from
Pages In Time I have to be honest I had never heard of this company until Karen sent it to me to work with. I love it. The rich blue and cream colors, amazing rub on's and die cut letters were alot of fun. The paper is double sided and a nice heavy weight. I plan on getting more of this line.

So I received a message from GabrielleP. on scrapbook.com and she asked me to put my "Find your path" lo on her distressed challenge on Mycreativescrapbook.com so I did. Well I won!!! How exciting is that? I won an awesome set of Prima flower jars. There was some amazing lo's, so I was throughly shocked. Thank you Gabrielle for telling me of the challenge.

Happy NSBD!! As part of the Pages In Time DT I want to welcome you to my challenge.
In this challenge you will make a layout or a card using handmade flowers. This may be any size layout or card, (may not be digital).
After finishing the challenge you will post it in the Handmade Flower thread at the Pages In Time website. One winner will be randomly chosen from this individual challenge for a RAK donated by myself. You will receive 25 points for finishing this challenge by Monday the 4th at midnight. I might have to think that this has been the coolest birthday ever...so far of course. I was lucky enough to be chosen for the Pages in Time Design Team. Karen picked 9 out of over 100 entries! Well it seems like it took forever but its finally here. I can't believe I actually have a full weekend off! What a great weekend ot be off too, it's my birthday monday and I get to spend the weekend with my mom at a crop. We signed up for the Crop for the Cure. I am excited to be helping the Relay for Life this year. Just wanted to remind you all to make sure you sign up for the RAK I am giving away monday in honor of my birthday. Well here we are on another monday. It should be a great week. It is supposed to be near 80 all week, I love the sunshine. I am going to a crop on saturday to benefit the relay for life campaign. My mom is driving over from Medford to go with me, it should be alot of fun. I am also preparing for the weekend crop next week for National scrapbook day. We have access to a whole house for the event! I will start getting goody bags together this week. Oh and I can't forget my birthday coming up on monday, haha just another day as far as I am concerned. Karen is anouncing the DT that day, so maybe that will be a great gift!

So I am a little bummed I wasnt chosen for the design team. I wanted it really really bad. Oh well better luck next time. I did get invited to try out for another one tho, so thats exciting. It is for Karen who owns her own scrapbook store in NE. I am excited that she invited me to try out for it. She has an amazing store and sometime hope to visit there. I am glad she does offer online ordering tho. I cant wait to go browse. :) I will keep you updated if things go right :)

SO I applied for the design team and I am anxiously waiting to hear from them to see if I made it. It's a huge chance but hey I can't win if I don't enter. They are calling people this week. I am hoping tomorrow my phone rings. If not they also chose some for honorable mention I at least hope I am in those ones. It is a huge prize of $500 plus an 8 month contract. It would be so amazing. So keep your fingers crossed for me. Here are a couple of my pages.

Top O' the morning to ya. Sorry couldn't resist. Happy St. Patty's day to everyone. I don't really celebrate it. Haha I am not even wearing green today. Sad as all the little kids on my bus pinched me lol.
I send off my package for the DT I am trying out for yesterday, so thats exciting, now just another month of waiting as I wont know for sure until about the 14th or 15th of April. Would make a nice bday gift for me if I made the team tho :) Considering its a $500 prize package to start! I will post pics tomorrow as I am heading out of town for work in a few mins.
I applied for a second job working at Michaels, mostly for the discount lol. But also that way they would have someone int he new store who might know something about the scrapbookign dept. Geez it frustrates me to find they hired people who don't know anything. Sorry a little venting there lol.

Been so long

Wow it has been forever since I posted on here. Life is too crazy for me at the moment I guess. SO some things to catch up on...
I went to the CK convention in Portland, took some classes, attended some crops, won some very neat prizes, including second place in the CK layout contest. WHooo hooo. I was very stoked about that.
I am trying out for a DT right now will keep you posted as to what happens with that. It ends April 10th.
Glad spring break is coming up, maybe I can get some house repairs caught up on. Thats it for now I guess. Hope everyone is safe and heathly.

Wow it has been awhile since I was able to get on here and leave some love. Life has been crazy, work has been busy. I did get another page published in Scrapbook News and Review Magazine so that was pretty cool for me. I am working in portland for about 6 days so I have alot of time on my hands. I got to go to Nike world, that was very cool. I took some pics and will be scrapping them soon. Hope everyone is safe and well.

Just checkin in to say hi and let everyone know I am still alive lol. I have been super busy with life and kids and work. My scrapbooking has really taken off lately and I can't seem to stay caught up. But that's ok that is where I want to be with it. Hope everyone is doing well. I can't believe it is already February. March is around the corner and that will be an exciting month, Spring break what more could you ask for. Also my big convention is the first weekend in March and we have a blast up in Portland. Well off to watch my favorite show Biggest Loser (the only tv I ever watch) Have a great evening.

Just wanted to share a few things that have happened recently. Aside from having a bout with food poisoning last night, I am having an awesome day. I have been found by one of my dearest friends from school and havent seen or heard from her in about 22 years! So excited to get back in touch with her and her family. Also I had the opportunity to find another friend from my childhood that I havent heard from in many many years and found out she had twins recently! Wow how we all grow up lol. I am excited to hear from her, hopefully she remembers me lol.

I got the most exciting news today. Scrapbook news and review magazine has accepted some of my layouts for publication. This is like a dream come true. I was so excited I didn't know what to say, or whether to scream or cry, I did actually cry I was so excited. As I know more I will keep you informed. Whooooo Hoooooo for me!!!

I have a feeling this month is going to fly by. I actually hope it does for a variety of reasons. For one winter would be closer to being over, I am so tired of the cold. Guess I should think about moving to Fl or somewhere lol.
I am so very sad to say that my vacation is almost over, I have enjoyed being able to scrap as much as possible the last two weeks.
I joined a new challenge called the AGC anything goes challenge. Its alot to keep up with but I have having fun so far with the daily challenges and such. Seems to be some bickering that is going on about points and such, Hope I am not part of that. Too much drama, a few people have already left. :( Sad to see people leave. Anyways I am off to scrap. Have a great weekend.

One week left

Well I have one week of vacation left. I cleaned the house today and now the week is mine to scrap away. My new cricut expression got here today so I was busy hooking it up to the design studio and all. Boy it looks like too much fun..if thats possible lol. I finally got the Rusty Pickle paper I have been waiting for and finished my sketch layout. I wish our local scrapstores sold it. :(

I am so glad that the holidays are finally over and life can get back to normal (as we know it) at my house. I am not sure why we let the holidays get the best of us and make us all run around like chickens with our heads cut off but they always seem to. I myself am making an effort to get my shopping done way earlier them usual and things mailed by the end of Oct. (we will see if that happens). lol

Just have to toot my own horn a little here. For those of you that I haven't wrangled down and told this to, Two of my layouts were selected by Cosmo Cricket(a scrapbooking company) to use on their website! For those of you that aren't familier with it, this is a huge honor.
I am lucky enough to have had many layouts win challenges and contests. Yes (I am boasting, it is my blog so I can do that here lol) I am proud of this. I never thought I would be good enough at the hobby I love so much to have this happen. I am so happy to be able to spend as much time scrapping as I am able to. Hopefully there will be many more toots to come as I get better and better.
